Looking Back Through The Year 2009

Bought a Bus/Motor Home (see 22nd Jan 2009 Post of 'The Gilbert Bus' for more pics and info) and lived and travelled northern NSW. Saw some beautiful places like Alstonville, Leeville, Ballina, Byron Bay, Lismore and Yamba, just to name a few.

My son Nathan broke his arm at Dreamworld. He was a very brave boy and will never forget his time at his first theme park. Pic:- Nathan and Jayden the day after we went to Dreamworld.

Attended the 'P!NK' Funhouse concert in Brisbane. Catching up with friends and family and enjoying some great music.

For our wedding anniversary we bought an 'Apple iMac'. An amazing all in one computer.

After selling our Gladstone home we decided to hit the road and travel down to Tasmania. Pic:- Nathan looking at Devonport on Spirit of Tasmania.

Boys and I had fun at the Melbourne Scienceworks Museum.

'Gilbert's Travel Show' - my new project. Having heaps of fun with capturing and editing my travel footage. iMovies is awesome!

For Our Christmas and New Year we will be spending it here in this log cabin. 'Windermere Log Cabin' Looking forward to a quiet Christmas as we spend time looking at the beautiful view of the Tamar River.

Happening in 2010:- Here is the new property which we are purchasing in Liffey Tasmania. 'Lovely Liffey' Excited about moving in mid-January as we venture into a lifestyle change.

My Thoughts!

Well I am up late at night or should I say early morning and as always I can't sleep, blaming this computer and damn internet. But the real reason is because are options of what to do next are so many that we want to be sure that we make the right choice. The WE includes hubby Billy and my boys Nathan(7) and Jayden(2).

Currently living in a bus/motor home in Woodburn New South Wales, we are enjoying the life with pigs, chooks, dogs, cats and goat. We bought a bus so our living expenses would be minimal which they are thanks to family and also be able to travel around. We have seen a lot of northern NSW but we would like to see more. Our eldest son goes to school which limits our ability to travel. Tried home schooling through the first term of this year which was OK but he needed more. We sold our house and have set aside an amount to buy the next place. We are looking around Tassie because of the cheap prices to buy land and houses but also the lifestyle change from living in hot weather to cold would be awesome. We don't want to rush into anything. We have considered renting till December while Nathan finishes his school year and hubby finishes the bus. Maybe during that time a quick trip down to Tassie would be ideal considering we have never been there. We want to buy a place that we can live on with or without bus without owing the bank.

I am hoping that we find a place in Tassie to buy. Then during the January holidays slowly travel down to Melbourne in the bus seeing awesome places on the way including family and friends. Have all our furniture moved by removalists from the storage shed in Gladstone to our home in Tassie.

By February 2010 we should own our home, land, vehicles including bus and all everyday living stuff with boys settled into school and playgroup. I know it is far away from our family and friends but I want to experience as much I can in my life and I think Tassie would do that for me. A good excuse for them to come visit and see Tasmania.

I am not good at this ranting thing but with everything happening with us at the moment I think I did a pretty good job. I hope I didn't bore you too much. Thanks for reading. Change is good!

To create this photo I firstly used a warmify effect in picasa and then using an application through facebook I was able to add the shell photo.

Just a few of my favourite photos!

The following slide show is just a few of my creative pics. I tidied my photos by cropping them then added either a sepia, black and white or warmify effect. Then using the slide website I added an old film effect and old film strip border. I thought it gave them a very classic look. I love photography!

This has been our home since January 2009 and it's been great. A lifestyle change is what we wanted and that's what we got.

The upside to having a bus is that it is easy to keep clean and as family we have become closer but the downside is that there is not enough room.

We are enjoying our new home and loving the new life experiences of seeing many new places.

Halloween Party

The boys & I attended Jayden's Day Care Centre's Halloween Night.

Dressed as Lighten McQueen & a Ninja Turtle the boys were ready for the party.

A great night with a sausage sizzle, fancy dress and disco.

Levi Mane Fraser

My brother Bill and his wife Kerrie-Anne are happy to announce the safe arrival of their third child 'Levi Mane Fraser'. Born in Newcastle on the 16th of October, weighing 8pounds and 51.5cm long. As you can see his big sisters are happy he has finally come out to play, as he was 7 days overdue. Hopefully I will see you soon Little Mane!!! Luv Aunty Mary :)

Relay For Life

After months of fundraising the DDC Relay For Life 2008 team
raised $2000 dollars for the Cancer Council.

The Candle Lighting Ceremony was a beautiful moment
and a great way to remeber loved ones who have passed due to cancer.

The highlight of the night was watching the Miss Relay For Life.
Thanks to Dynamic Dennise who entered on behalf of our dancers.
It was very tough competition but she looked liked she had fun................hehehe

Nathan's School Concert

With an Australian Theme the Prep F Class

from Gladstone Central School were ready for the Annual Concert.

Nathan was a tennis player and with some help from mum
he practised his dance at home as well as at school.

He was a bit nervous but after the show he said he really enjoyed being on the stage.

Jayden's First Haircut

At the age of 18months Jayden had his first haircut.

Unfortunetaly Jayden had to lose his curls as his hair was too long and very wild as his dad would say. His first visit to the hair dresses was very interesting. He wouldn't sit still which made the hairdresses job a little harder. He refused to wear the cape therefor he was covered with hair when we left. And he had to sit on my lap which of course i got covered in hair too. The lady did say he was a very good boy, as most young children scream while getting their hair cut which Jayden didn't do, so i felt a little better about Jayden's behaviour.

He looks so different, a handsome little boy. Hopefully people won't confuse him as a girl as a few comments have been made due to his beautiful curls. Mum's going to miss those curls!!!!!

Nathan's 6th Birthday

Friday the 25th of July 2008 we celebrated Nathan's 6th Birthday.

Nathan had a great day. He awoke in the morning and opened two presents and a card and was told he would open the others at his Birthday dinner.

Then at school all the kids sang Happy Birthday and he handed out his chocolate muffins to his classmates and teachers. He wore his 6 birthday badge all day.

That afternoon we picked up his two friends Kylah & Ben for a sleepover and Nanna also came for sleepover aswell. After his Godparents Jon & Cilla arrived for a special birthday dinner he was allowed to open his other presents. He was a very lucky boy and was especially happy with his Spiderman mask and web blaster.

Of course the highlight of his day was the birthday cake. Nathan sat proudly at the end of the table as his family and friends sang Happy Birthday. The night was a lovely family dinner with kids having sparklers before bed.

At the end of the night Nathan said he was going to start counting down the days till his next birthday. 'Love You Nath'

Enjoying Our Holidays

The above pic is of my boys Nathan (nearly 6yrs) and Jayden (18mths) attending a birthday party at the Marina Pirate Ship Playground. During the June/July holidays we have done tenpin bowling, watched 'Get Smart' at the cinema, sleepovers and heaps of playing at the park. We are all sad to see the end of our holidays but kinda looking forward to school and work. Counting down to our next 2wk holiday.

Once again our Dance Week Performances were a great success.

Calliope featured fun routines with some Gladstone competition dancers invited to perform their winning solo and duo dances.

Gladstone was exciting as we celebrated our 10 year dancers and star performer medals were announced. Also dancers introduced each dance item giving them experience in public speaking and building self-confidence.

The aim of our dance week is to provide the dancers the experience of being on a stage in front of an audience before we embark on the end-of-year concert at the Entertainment Centre.

It was really great to see many happy faces at our dance week shows. 'Keep up the hard work dynamic dancers'- quoted by Ms Maryanne.

Kalana & Armani Fraser

The above girls are my beautiful neices. They unfortunately live in New Castle and we don't get to see them that much.

Kalana started pre-school this year and while she was here visiting she attended her first Tiny Tots class and she loved it.

Armani is amazing as she is very strong and an active little girl. She loves to push her big sis in her play pram.

Missing these girls heaps at the moment :( but hoping to visit around christmas time as the new edition will be here. I am sure the girls would like a baby brother but we'll just have to wait and see.

After many hours of hardwork we have finally achieved some more daring lifts and throws.

The pic above is called the statue of liberty and from here the bases throw the girl up and the top girl lands into a cradle catch.

The 2008 DDC Cheersquad consist of 24 members with the squad receiving new uniforms this year.

We are available for public performances.

My Hubby's Garden

This is a photo of half of our front yard. Hubby has been pottering around the house and it has improved some what. When we bought the house it was just a grass hill with no fence. Not all a garden person I just simply observe. Hope you like the following pics. More to come as I see the changes.

This is billy's first flower which is called a hippieastrum. A very pretty and unusual flower. Thanks to cilla!!!!!!

Our cycad is my favourite and looks perfect in the corner of our front yard. Great Job Billy!!!!!!

Nathan's First Fish

Nathan caught his fish on the Anzac Day holiday. This fishing trip was at foreshores with Daddy, Godfather Jon and mate Steve. He was very happy that he was the first fisherman on the boat to catch a fish. When he got home late that night he dropped his jacket in the hallway and went straight to bed. His exact words to me was 'Mum I am really tired'. A great day!!!!

Just wanting to boast about my son's achievements he received during his first term at school. As you can see he is doing really well. Loves show and tell, play time and being the leader when it is his turn. He is also growing up too fast as he is now responsible enough to get dropped off at the kiss and drop zone. Friday is his favourite day as it is tuckshop day. I love watching him learn, it's a feeling I can not describe with words.

My son who is 5 years old wanted to write Santa a letter, so with my help and of course writing his own name when finished we did so. Considering he could ask for anything he was quite humble. Asking for a water gun, superman cup, toy motorbike and a book. I told him that the elves collected them at night. Using their magic they would appear and remove the letter to give to Santa but he must be asleep. The next morning when he saw his letter was gone his face was priceless, he was amazed that the elves did visit his own house and glad to know that Santa knew what he wanted. This memory will stay with me for life and i can't wait for plenty more as my boys grow.

Nathan's 5th Birthday was celebrated on Sunday 22nd of July at Sea Urchins. Here he invited a few close friends to help him celebrate his day. With plenty of food, drinks, cake and fun in the jumping castles, all kids enjoyed themselves. Nathan loved opening his presents and blowing out his candles. Thanks to Nik, Neat, Cilla, Jon, Jacqui, Emily, Mark & kids for making Nathan's day so special!!!!!

Nik's 30th Wild Wild West Party

With plenty of bow and arrows, guns, feather bowers and a nah from a lonely horse, the night was filled with surprise and laughter!!!!!! Organised by her huddy Ken, she arrived at The Simpson's Saloon Bar on Saturday the 26th of May to a surprise 30th fancy dress party. Nik's family and friends enjoyed the night with plenty of games, heaps of food and (of course) drinks, yummy birthday cake and even a bit of boot scootin. Well what can I say except I had a totally awesome time. With so much that happened I unfortunately can only mention some of the highlights of our girlfriend cruise. Each day got better and better and there were many experiences that felt a bit surreal. We were pampered by all the staff of the Pacific Star, the food was amazing as I tried a snail during the French night, the dance shows were energetic and very lively, the islands had beautiful clear water and lovely beaches, we had our own private cave tour which was both scary and amazing at the same time, scuba diving was fab with unreal coral and fish, the land divers blew me away with shock and surprise and activities onboard were both fun and exciting. I recommend to anyone to try a cruise once in your life, as I have not only done it once, but I am planning to do it again. Thanks to the 30 cruise girls Shell, Mars and Charli for being there as I enjoyed your company immensely. Remeber to never forget our ship dance as it will be revived!!!!!!!

'Surprise!!!!!', was what my brother said to family and friends on Saturday the 31st of March 2007, as we all turned up to a so called Going Away Party. Thirty minutes before they said their I Do's, Bill announced what the gathering was really for. Shocked but very happy family and friends watched as Kerri-Ann and her flower girls Kalana & Armani arrived at their home, and in the backyard the beautiful family made it official. It was a fantastic way for the pair to marry as they will soon head off travelling and are unsure of their return. Congratulations and best wishes for now and many more years to come!!!!!!

I wonder who this spunky pair could be? Well if you couldn't guess this is my mum and dad back in their before i was created days. Dad said this was their very first flat they rented in New Zealand. They had no furniture for awhile and they couldn't just buy a bed like we can, it had to be ordered and it took 6 months for them to receive it. This will be treasured, as a photo of my mum and dad in their 20's is very rare, especially with one of them together.

Congratulations on the recent marriage of Sharyn Mozley to Allan Dicker. This wonderful event took place on the 24th of February at the Botanical Gardens with the reception following at the Country Plaza International. The couple then enjoyed a short honeymoon at Rydges Resort in Yeppoon. It was a beautiful wedding with Sharyn looking like a real princess with her of course handsome prince. Nathan had an extra special birthday this year. He was fortunate to have his mum, dad, nanna, koro, uncle Bill, Aunty Kerrie and Cuzzie Kalana all celebrating his 4th birthday over on Great Keppel Island. We all had a great holiday with Nathan having a party at the pizza place. He also got to fly his kite, have a ride on a camel, build sand castles on the beach and play on the swings. As you can see from this photo of Nathan with his chocolate spiderman cake, he was very happy with his island birthday holiday. More photos can be viewed on my multiply site of this family holiday. I still can't believe that I am now a PADI Open Water Scuba Diver. It is truly like you are in some other world. So many things to see and such a calm and relaxing feeling when you are diving, not at all what I expected. Had the best time over at Great Keppel Island as we plan to head back at the end of the month for Nathan's birthday. I am sure to get some cool pics so i'll keep you posted. This is me on our Discovery Dive (first dive) in 2004. I was a bit worried at this point but I am soooo glad I kept going as it was totally wicked!!

This is my son Nathan William Gilbert born 25th of July 2002. Nathan loves to swim, sing, ride his bike, go to work with dad and watch DVD's. He has alot of friends who include Letitia, Ben, Kylah, Hayden, Skye, Dannii and 150 dancers. Every week he visits his Nanna and Koro and always has time for his cuzzie Kalana. He adores his god parents Jon and Cilla who love to play his favourite game hide and seek. He already has his own profile on our computer as he loves to play his puta games. Each Friday he has swimming lessons and soon he will obivously try some dance classes. I love him very much and i'll keep you posted with latest photos as he grows. Photo- 3yrs old

This is a picture of the 2002 Dynamic Dancers. The Dynamic Dance Centre was founded in 1999 and currently has three studios, two dance teachers, five student teachers and over 150 dancers. Our year consists of theme weeks, competitions through-out Central Queensland, dance week, exams, public displays and end-of-year presentation performance.
